Cardinal Gibbons finished its season on Wednesday with a 32-19 win over Chapel Hill. The victory gives the Crusaders the conference championship for JV girls basketball with a 4-0 conference record. Gibbons also finishes with a winning record of 8-6 overall, including five straight wins to end the season. Maggie Tardif scored 12 points (on four three-pointers) and also added eight rebounds and four blocked shots to lead the way. Fellow sophomores Derian Boch, Paris Pope, Megan Summers and Sarah Thomas also got the start in their final JV game and each contributed to the victory. The Crusaders' pressure defense forced the Tigers into 40 turnovers for the game and led to many fast-break opportunities.
